You’re warmly invited to a unique immersion at Flor da Mata in the Brazilian Amazon. This experience offers an opportunity to spend time with the Huni Kuin people and learn from their ancestral culture in an intimate setting surrounded by rainforest and wildlife.
Over the days together, you’ll be close to community life and traditional practices, with space for rest, reflection, and connection with nature. You’ll also learn about respectful ways of living with the forest and the values that guide Huni Kuin tradition.

The focus of the retreat is a genuine immersion in Huni Kuin culture. Flor da Mata is a small community of 42 people, held by the Tarauacá River in the Brazilian Amazon.
During the retreat, participants may be welcomed into traditional community practices such as song circles, body painting, storytelling, morning cleansing rituals, and more. Some additional practices may be available for those who feel a clear calling, with guidance shared through the preparation process.
This is an opportunity to connect with nature, slow down, and reflect in a grounded and respectful setting, while learning from Huni Kuin wisdom and their ways of living in harmony with the natural world.

RAPÉ
Within Huni Kuin tradition, Rapé is a ceremonial practice supported by prayer and intention. In this immersion, there is an option to join a 7-day dieta, guided respectfully in the Caxinauá tradition, for those who are ready for a deeper commitment.
TRADITIONAL PREPARATION RITUAL
The community will share a traditional preparation ritual with the group — from gathering forest plants to the cooking process — guided by the Pajé (spiritual leader) of Flor da Mata Village.
KAMBÔ
Kambô is a traditional Amazonian practice connected to the Giant Green Monkey Tree Frog. In this immersion, it may be offered for participants who choose to opt in, with preparation and careful screening.
FOREST BATH / CLEANSING RITUAL
Forest baths with jungle herbs are part of local tradition. They are offered as a grounding practice to support rest, presence, and connection with the forest during the immersion.
CEREMONIAL NIGHTS
Over these ten days in the jungle, the community will host traditional ceremonial gatherings, guided by Huni Kuin elders and their ancestral ways. These nights invite deep presence, respect, and connection with the living forest.
TRADITIONAL CRAFT
Weaving is a cultural manifestation in which women express ancestral and complex geometric designs called "kene", which they apply in the structural decoration of their fabrics and other objects. Woman weavers are highly respected in the community and they are open to share these secrets with us.

Flor da Mata is a peaceful village held by the river, an ideal place to slow down and reconnect with the living forest. The Huni Kuin hold their ancestral traditions with deep care, and ceremonial life is an important part of the community’s rhythm.
This is a genuine village immersion. We will be sharing accommodation and meals, and living simply alongside the community. It’s important to arrive prepared: this is not a luxury retreat centre, and comfort is basic.
Meals are provided daily (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). There is a dry, flat area for camping, and the river offers a beautiful place to swim and cool down.
